nuncjusz1 ::: Favorites I mean WHY Gilles's CAR was thrown into the air, because on the footage it isn't shown how that happened, the cameraman was focusing on Mass's car, Villeneuve's Ferrari went to the air outside of the screen, so we couldn't quite see. I assume that it was a similar reaction - "front left wheel of Villeneuve's car came into contact with the right rear wheel of Mass' car, launching the Ferrari into the air" - this is from Wikipedia. Troylito ::: Favorites Gilles was on a fast lap and Mass was on a slow lap. Mass saw Gilles coming and moved to the outside to let Gilles go through on the inside. Gilles made the mistake of trying to pass at full speed to the outside of the corner. Gilles hit the back of Mass and took off like an airplane, flipped in the air and nosedived into the dirt beyond the armco, then continued to flip while ejecting Gilles from the car.
