Description:

Atmospheric halos series part II: A nice lunar halo display was captured by the Mt. Gaebris camera on Feb/23/2007. 22° halo is common, also moondogs, but 9° halo is rare. It is caused by pyramidal shaped ice crystals.

speaking of Moondogs, Johnny & the Moondogs was one of the original names of John Lennon's band before they became the Beatles. And look under Beatles Shakespeare skit & you will see George Harrison playing the part of the man in the moon with his "dog".

Everything that moves with the moon, more or less. The 22° halo's at the same distance as the spots that show up to the left and right of the moon at about :40, which are the moondogs. The smaller 9° halo is more in evidence about :25. The zipping things are humans: pay no attention to them.
